West Jakarta to Handle Waste Using 3R Concept

Three new 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle) temporary waste disposal sites (TPS)s are planned to be built by West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Environment this year.

But first, we will try to implement 3R concept in 11 TPSs

"Through 3R concept, we will do processing, sorting and reducing inorganic and organic waste in West Jakarta," stated Edy Mulyanto, West Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-department Head, Monday (3/4).

Waste Depot Construction in Cincin Reservoir Has Entered Planning Stage

According to him, 3R concept can reduce volume of waste that will be transported to Bantar Gebang Landfill (TPA). Thus his side plans to implement this concept in all 34 TPSs in eight sub-districts within two years.

"But first, we will try to implement 3R concept in 11 TPSs," he conveyed.
